2008 Branson 2400
Hey guys, as the title states I have a 08 2400 with manual trans. I知 thinking my range shift fork is damaged somehow. In high I have no issues but when I try to put it in low it will not engage 1-3 gears at all and sometimes I can get Low reverse to work. Is this a common issue? How hard is it to repair and where in the world can I get parts? I can稚 find an online source anywhere. I have downloaded the owners, service, and parts manuals for the tractor. Thanks for any help, so far I love this tractor and only had it a week.

I looked through my service manual for the 2400 and it appears that you can remove the top of the transmission housing which might allow you to see the shift forks. The few manual transmissions that I have worked on all had access covers which allowed a person to view into them. The service manual shows some cut aways but it does not with 100% certainty show exactly where the cover is in relationship tp the shift forks.

Parts, there are some dealers in the USA that will ship parts and I believe one or two members of this site also work at dealerships. Hopefully they will chime in.

I would send a PM to either Dave, of Dave's Tractors in CA, or to Asteral. Both have been a ton of help to us on the forums.

the first thing i would do if that was brought into our shop would be to pull the rear top case and visually inspect the shifter forks, open it up and have someone with you who can move the shifter while your inspecting to see where your problem lies, but you may also have a damaged gear set in the rear end that even though your sifting to where you want to be it won't engage, you really won't be able to determine what the issue is without opening her up and inspecting it.
as for what ever parts you may need you can email me a list of what you are going to need to repair your tractor to Ryan@bigtextactor.com, if you need the part book for you tractor you can find it here -
2800.pdf - Google Drive - this says it for the 2800 but it also applies to any of the gear driven 00 series pre 2014.

Asteral thank you for the info, looks like that’s where I will start and report back, kinda sucks because I missed the issue when I was looking at it to buy, oh well. Still feel like I got a good deal even with repairs.
