2008 CK 30 4X4 and PTO indicator lights on dash not working

Hi folks, I am new to the board and new to a 2008 Kioti CK 30 HST which I purchased used with only 255 hour on it. I noticed that not all the dash lights are working as mentioned in the title. I checked all the fuses and none are blown. Does anyone know what else it might be?

I would think either a bulb or possibly switch at the lever. Sometimes guys will disconnect safety switches for one reason or another. Could possibly have something to do with that.

From what I understand, all the Kiotis have the same dash. Depending on your model, the dash lights may or may not work due to there not being a sensor/switch for them. eg; my ck27 doesn't have a light for the 4 wheel drive and yet it is a 4x4 machine and in 4wd almost all the time.

That could be a possibility, seems silly that it wouldn't have a sensor if it has the function but manufacturers will do what ever it takes to keep the cost down. The four wheel drive and the PTO work fine, I can live without a light to tell me they are. I will have to dig a little deeper in six months when it warms up again and see if there are in fact any sensors. I will likely purchase a shop manual in the meantime. Thanks for the responses guys.

I have a 2004 model year CK30hst that I bought new. Like you, I wondered why some of the lights didn't work. There is no switch/sensor for the pto or 4wd. I have park brake, low oil, high beam, turn signal/hazard, glow plug. I can check the next time on it for more but I think that's it.

Most of my dash lights don't work, even new. The dealer explanation was he didn't hook them up because they short out when wet, but I'm kinda suspicious of that one. The dash is the same on all, but on the CK30 some of them are only for the CK35. Also, I bet not all the safety features work on yours, which means the switches that control those lights are deactivated. Not something to worry about. One of these days I want to go through and hook up most of the lights, without activating the safety features, like the one where you have to be in N to get off or start the tractor.

I did a little more digging yesterday and found what appears to be plugs in the wire harness for sensors but no sensors in the area to plug them into.

Sparked by your question, I dug around over thanksgiving, pouring over the service manual and tractor. Although there are numerous indicators on the dash, according to the service manual, only the 4WD, Diff lock, parking brake, high beams, oil pressure, alternator, and glow plugs have lights. On mine, all those work except the 4WD and diff lock. I found a plug on the 4WD, but nothing for the diff lock. Nothing in the manual about the actual switches.

On another note, contrary to the owners manual, there are no PTO, Neutral, or operator presence safety switches, at least according to the service manual. The only switch that feeds into the display unit for the start circuit to be complete is the clutch switch. From the factory, the CK has no other safety systems. I had found this to be true for my CK, but assumed that it was a dealer thing. At least one company relies on common sense.

Something else I noticed is that the dash lights that actually do work have the symbols highlighted in white where the other non functioning lights are not. On a side note I did a bunch of dirt moving with it on the weekend and it was a lot nicer then my old IH 574 was (most everything on that dash stopped working long ago). Very pleased with it so far.
