2008 Economy and the Affects on Equipment Prices

Around here plumbers that were getting $30.00/Hr. are begging for the $10.00/Hr. clean up jobs.
Great time if you need work done, a lot of guys will work for darn near min wage, were a few years ago you couldn't even get people to come out and bid a job because they were all too buy, and if they did come out there prices were ridiculous and they had a take it or leave it attitude.

I do not know how anyone in business with employees be less than $65.00-$100.00 per hour and stay in business! I have a friend that is a plumber ,a one man show ,working out of his house with next to nothing for ovehead (no shop or employees) and he claims at $60.00 hour he is struggling with the cost of gas and what little overhead he has.

As someone who sells equipment, at this point to us it seems like the recession is really limited to the news media. Compacts are off to a good start, AG equipment has gone very well, construction is down. Most of our major vendors, CNH - Deere, etc all have very good years. The next few months will tell, but we're all still pretty optimistic.
