2008 gator 850 D for sale

I found a gator 850 D for sale with 200 hours for $4000 looks like it is in great shape, manual dump, diesel, IRS 4x4 is this a good price, can anyone tell me about this unit, top speed noise etc?

That deal sounds too good to be true. I would be suspect.
The machine goes for about $10K new, and with only 200 hours it is essentially new. We have that many hours on ours, which has the power dump option. The only problem we had was with the parking brake, which was repaired under warranty. It goes 30 mph top speed according to the specs, although I've never tried to check it with GPS. We almost never go top speed and when we do, whatever the top speed is, it is plenty fast for our use.
We use it as a working machine. It will haul all the firewood you can load into it, it will pull my 3000 lb boat around the property including up a grade. It starts and runs great in any temperature (allowing the glow plugs to do their job) and it isn't too noisy but I wouldn't call it quiet. You can have a conversation with the passenger while driving, if that helps.
Just be very careful, this smells like a scam to me. I would guess a fair price might be closer to double that.

You didn't say where you saw the ad, but if it was Craigslist, I'd be highly suspicious. If it was for real and in decent shape, the "owner" could sell it to almost any dealership for more than $4000.

If the ad doesn't have a phone number to respond to, it's a red flag to me. Another way to check is to copy the URL into your search engine and see what comes up. I'm betting it's listed all around the country if it was seen on Craigslist.

Try it and let us know what comes up....If it's legit, I'm going to be surprised. If so, it's probably already gone.

No phone number he is at a job at some other country and the machine is in some other state. I saw adds like this before when in bought a tractor. I thought is was local. I think it is a scam and will not persue any longer. Thanks for the help

No phone number, Out of country and it's in storage in another state is the scam criteria.
