Hi All,

Planning my trip to look at the DK series Kioti tractors this weekend and I had planned on purchasing new.... It just so happens, however, that the dealer I'm visiting has a DK35 (forgot to ask if HST) 2008 with 600 hours. Has 1 rear remote.

If any of you have followed by other threat, I was considering the DK 40 vs. the LS 4041 and I'm still planning on looking at them.... but at essentially 10k less (they are asking 12k for the DK 35) and getting the DK line (I liked the added features vs. the CK 35 of present)- I am tempted.

Here are my main questions:
#1 Price- Is the price of 12k a reasonable asking price for a Kioti of that age/hours? Pics look decent aside from some amount of sun fading in the rims, I'll know more once I check it out in person. Best price I got on a DK 40 hst was 21k.
#2 Features- Any features that the DK line in 2008 is missing that the current DK line has now?
#3- Lift capacity of loader- big difference to current models?

Thanks again in advance.

Carlos-

Is it a DK 35 or a DK 35se? There are some differences. The se was the last one and 2012 was the last year for them. It is what I have and it is an excellent tractor. I have about 210 hours on my 2012. They are four inches shorter in the frame and 3 cylinder instead of four cyl. Like the DK 40 has and the tires are a little smaller. Also the mighty KL 401 is not fitted to the DK 35se so you would have about 1200 less loader lift. I gave 19300 for the DK35 new.

Unfortunately the ad doesn't specify SE or not so I'll have to ask the dealer when I get there on Sunday.
Here is the link if any of you want to see the photo (no hoarding in on my find though, ok :) )

If you do deal on this have him supply the 2nd remote ask about the maintenance records.

I believe it is a DK35.. I don't think it has the telescoping lower links and stabilizers. Also it would be a 2007 according to tractor data. I may have not been placed into service until 2008 though.

There are quite a number of differences in between the two models. the above mentioned links, the loader control locations, a smaller engine 1.6L vs 1.8 L. lift capacity and pump capacity is smaller., several other things. Not saying it is a bad deal, but I just wanted you to know what you are looking at.

Here are links to compare the two.

James and Murph- They you so much for the information. I'll have to sit down with both side by side tonight and do a bit more comparison.

James has the 35 and I have the 40 so if you have any questions ask away.

Murph-
How well can you navigate tight areas (in my case probably an orchard with 8-10 ft rows)? My only concern when looking at these machines is whether or not it will end up being too big once I have everything established on our 6 acres. Granted this will be years down the road and I have a zeroturn for tight spaces.

My machine turns pretty tight. Of course you can also use your split turning brakes for even tighter turns if you don't mind tearing up turf, which if you engage them on grass it will do. Keep in mind with a HST transmission you can "see-saw" very rapidly and easily, and the full orbital hydralic power steering makes it easy also. The hydrostat just makes changing directions back and forth to get around an obstacle so easy, it becomes second nature. If you haven't guessed I am a big promoter of the HST transmission. Especially if you are doing precision work around obstacles.

I do do the one break boogie a lot in the woods but the DK is not a mower.
