2009 Gator XUV INFO

Just some info to share with the forum. I have a 2009 XUV. My land has a lot of hills on it and one is very steep and you have to go up it slow. I kept getting error code 24 which is the ground speed sensor and it would put the mechine into fault mode where it would run on one cyclinder which is not to fun on the middle of a steep hill. Long story short JD changed the ground speed sensor on the 09 models. If you dont put the mechine under a heavy load you would not have a problem, but because of my land it was coming on all the time. My local dealer filed a case with JD on this problem and they are sending me a recalibrated speed sensor which I am going to guess is the one on the 2008 XUV. Has anyone else had this problem. I will post if it fixes it or not.

How do you pull error codes on an XUV?

The service engine light with flash in different sequences for different codes. The service maunal has the codes in it.

So you don't put a jumper wire across terminals to activate diagnostic mode like in some of my older cars? The light just starts flashing a sequence which you look up in a service manual (which a dealer would have?)

When the computer sees a fault it will flash a code. If you turn the key off you will lose the code until the fault happens again. I bought the manual on CD from JD web site that have the codes listed.

Thanks for that info. Always good to know. Although I have an 08 XUV 850D I suspect they're similar regarding diagnostics.

Had same problem on XUV 620i, dealer provided same servie on sensor to fix.

My 2009 is doing the same thing under heavy load or when going up hills slowly. Let me know if you get it fixed and if so did they use the 2008 sender.
