I HAVE A NEW XUV 620. IN MY WOODS THERE ARE A LOT OF PLACES I HAVE TO GO VERY SLOW. IT SURGES AND IS HARD TO DRIVE SMOOTH AT VERY LOW SPEEDS. IS THERE A FIX FOR THIS. MY BE A LOWER CLUCH ENGAGEMENT SPEED? ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEAS.

Either run in low gear, or slighly keep your foot on the gas so it doesn't freewheel. I had the same experience with my 850D but I got used to it and it isn't such a problem any more.
The engine with help with braking as long as the clutch is engaged but when you slow down enough it disconnects completely (freewheels) and then you'll start coasting much faster. Getting back on the gas re-engages the clutch and it's like poppling the clutch on a standard drive car, a jerky manuever.
Plus, you'll probably get happier with the brakes over time. Mine felt weak and took a while to bed in properly but now they're fine.
Finally, another technique would be to drive with left foot braking as needed and keeping the right foot ever so slightly on the gas to keep the clutch engaged. I don't drive this way but there are times when I thought I ought to try it.

Maybe a little stiffer gas pedal would help.
