As I've posted before, the hydraulics are slow on a 200cx mounted on a 2320. It's really noticeable when plowing snow - the dump function is almost lethargic.

I've read posts about 'shimming' hydraulic pressure to achieve more from the loader on a 790. What's that about? Can I do the same to improve the speed of my 200cx? What are the down-sides?

Rule to live by: For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction! in this case, you will most likely suffer lift strength to speed things up, or worse stretch the equipment past it's limit and cause failure.

More pressure will not buy you any additional speed. More pressure equals more lifting capacity. You need more flow if you want to go faster.

One stupid question, have you checked your regen feature on your dual SCV? If it wasn't enabled the bucket would dump awfully slow.

There may be mods that alter both but only altering pressure will increase lifting capacity not speed. Note that when you increase lifting capacity you increase the stress, etc. on all parts, potentially beyond their limits.

As Orlo said eloquently, raising pressure does NOT raise speed, only more flow can do that effectively. Your tractor has only one hydraulic pump that is split between the implements and the steering. You only have 3.4 GPM to work with at the loader...

There might be something wrong, maybe the regen feature on the SCV that orlo mentioned. Though I have no idea how to check if it is enabled. My bucket drops fast enough so that if I let move the control to full down it will "bounce" when it gets to the end of travel. I don't let it go down that fast unless I'm trying to jar some snow or mud out of the bucket.

Is there a procedure on checking the regen feature of the svc valve?

I would love to check this on my 2305. I find the curl on my 200cx a bit slow

Bye the way I'm looking at a 2320 and will probably upgrade very soon so this interests me alot.

thanks...

2305JD, If speed is your primary interest, you should be looking at the 2520. :)

I would go with the 3120 before I would go with 2520 ! & get get 60" 7 Iron Deck For alittle more money ! When doing loader work Actually guyys How fast do you really need it ! The 2320 does Afine Job ! With Loader & Hydrualics Yall Take care !
