Hi everyone:

I've had my 200CX parked for 2-3 weeks. The cylinders have adjusted so the mounts will not clear the front tires and there is pressure on both lift hoses at the implement side. I cannot reconnect the hoses to extend the lift cylinders! I can connect the dump circuit and use it, but it seems of little use.

I see no signs of leaking oil. I think this happened because the oil was warm (from use and ambient weather) and expanded when I parked it and now is cold and contracted. The weather has been cooler than normal since I parked the FEL and I did not support it because the manual did not say to support it.

I do not need my FEL right away. Should I just wait until the weather warms up and hope the oil expands and everything returns to the way I parked it? The manual suggests the 200 loader - without a park stand - may need an overhead hoist to mount it, but makes absolutely no mention of any hoist needed to mount the 200CX.

Yes - Even though the manual doesn't recommend it, I will support the loader the next time I park it if I can ever get it back on the tractor... :)

Thanks in advance,
Bill

Is it parked on soft ground? The loader should not settle, but pressure in the lines causing difficulty reconnecting is very common. The way I fix it is to wrap a rag over the QD nipple and press it against the loader frame to let out a little squirt of fluid-that usually enough to allow the QD to connect. Another possibility is you only had the loader frame clear the tires by a fraction of a inch.

As Kennyd said, should get you back in business.
Also, can loosen a tube to let out some oil so the connector can be re-connected. Once connected, you can reposition the FEL higher to drive under.

You will figure out that no stand is needed in your future, and the FEL will work great.
Be careful when pushing on the pin in the center of the male connector, as the oil will fly around a bit. That is the reason for a wrapped rag. btdt

If you do loosen any of the hyd hoses/lines do it at the hyd coupler itself. That connection is an o ring boss connection the steel lines throughout the loader are a flat face o ring connection and lossening under pressure will generally blow out the o-ring and it will need to be replaced, the o ring boss connection will not care since it is behind the threads.

I always park the loader stand on a 2x6. If parking the loaded on the ground it will have the tendency to settle, the stand is not very wide. From time to time my loader will settle but I just get under the loader mounts and push up while kicking a board under the stand, very easily done.

Hi all:

Thanks for the quick replies!

The 200CX has been parked on asphalt in a carport attached to my barn. I consider it a hard level surface. I am quite certain my 2305 and 200CX cannot dig up the surface without some dentures.

When you press the nipples against the loader frame what pressure will the escaping fluid be at? From reading the manual I am envisioning losing body parts.

Thanks!

It will be equal to the weight that's acting on the cylinders...So if the loader weighs 500lbs, then the fluid will be at 500lbs-but most likely MUCH less.

This is the reason for the rag, no body parts will be harmed;)
