I just "moved up" from a 1949 Ford 8N to a 2011 John Deere 4520. A Gearmore Box Scraper (2G2-72-B) came with the pile of attachments. The owner only used it for 60 hours and sold it because he as done building his moto cross race track. He knew little about the Box Scraper, including the proper way of attaching it to the 3-point, so he couldn't provide much guidance to me. The manual has very skimpy information on the tractor's hydraulic system for attachments.
This tractor was originally equipped with a back hoe which the owner had since sold.
The Box Scraper has hydraulically actuated scarifier schanks.
I believe this 4th and 5th SCV kit was added for the backhoe and the hydraulics for box blade tilt, as well as
John Deere 4th & 5th Selective Control Valve Kit - LVB26 37
My problem is that the tilt function on the box blade seems to have inadequate pressure to move when the controls are opened (assuming we have it hooked up correctly) .
It's almost as though the blade is "locked", so I can't get it to move from the "level" position to tilt up to allow the scarifier schanks to dig in. Is there a switch I need to hit to allow pressure to move to this 4th-5th SCV kit?
I have not found anything EXCEPT a push button added to the loaders control stick. The push button has a set of wires that look dealer installed that run on the surface of the loader control stick. An electric button terminates right new the handle of the stick and appears to have been broken off. Might this be the way to control the box scraper?
