massey fergusson 1660
does anyone know if their is an adapter to set my 2012 massey fergusson rear wheels on 6ft centers for planting corn. the book says 1460mm or 57.5in.which comes to 4.8ft. after moving wheels around to the most outer point was able to get 5ft 4in. need 4 more inches on both sides. my tires size are 16.9x26. Is their possibly a more deep dish wheel for this series.

You will need a set of wheel spacers. Maybe someone knows exactly what your lug spacing is to point you to a set for your tractor.

talk to massey ferguson about spacing and possibly another wheel with more offset. no help their. talk to a several fabricators they said could possible put to much of a load on outer bearing which I already thought of that as well. thanks for your time believe im gonna sell it buy a tractor that will work. love the tractor works really well. but no good if I cant plant corn thanks donald

May I ask why does it matter if your planting corn? Around here the feild don't have mounds or anything that would matter what width it is.

most of our field corn is planted on 3ft rows there fore when you go back to spray the field with roundup and later with nitrogen you dont want to run over the corn you planted. thats why needs to be set the tractor tires on 6ft centers. we do plant on rows as well as no till. thanks donald

Morning Donald,
Looking at the specs for the MF 1660 it seems to be a decent sized tractor, unfortunately it wasn't a row crop tractor with the bar style axles.
I'm was guessing it's sweet corn then I saw it was field corn your planting on 36" centers, have you considered going down to 30" or even 28"rows?
Also, what size planter are you using 2 row or 4 ? and your N setup and sprayer 4 rows?
back many years ago cultivating on 36" rows the tractor rears were not centered you had to carefully watch your spacing, seems like I had maybe 6" of tire clearance straddling two rows.
I would be worried about the rear axles and bearings if using a 3 pt sprayer or N2 equipment if using spacers to get your desired widths.
