I bought a "new" used MX5100 w/FEL almost two weeks ago. Apparently, a guy bought it, took it home and barely scraped the paint of the cutting edge of the bucket and decided he wanted a bigger tractor. I bought it with 8 hrs on it as a "new" unit with respect to the ability to finance and full warranty. I saved about 1200 bucks over a brand new unit, not a bad deal.

However, the manual didn't get returned and the dealership is having one sent to me along with a top link pin, lynch pins and the bushings for cat I to cat II on the lift arms. I am wondering if there is anything I should be looking out for during the first few weeks of use. The salesman didn't really know much, so asking him was futile. I have put 5 hrs on it so far, mostly loader work after getting the rear tires loaded with Rim Guard (worth every penny BTW). I forgot to ask, but I doubt the dealership changed the oil prior to delivery to me. Is there an initial 10 hr change? Anything else?

Thanks in advance.

Nothing for 50 hours. Just get in/on and go. Might want to check the front axle oil since sometimes they need some. The loader should be greased every 10 or so hours of use. What a great tractor it is and the best I have ever owned. Congrats and we sure could use a photo or two.

Congrats!! Check the lug nut torque at about 25 hrs. The manual says 50 but you'll be surprised because they'll be below spec. Easier to check early than have to replace a rim....

Thanks for the info so far, I haven't taken any pics yet but I will when it quits raining and I give it a good hosing. It is a bit on the dirty side already.
