Anyone got a long term fix for corrosion of battery tray? Seems the battery inevitably will vent off some liquid in Summer operation and it always results in tray corrosion. Eventually it looks like the tab that the tie-down rods pull against, will corrode away. I have sanded and primed/painted the tray about 1/year. I also placed a carpet type mat infused with baking soda under the battery but it still results in tray corrosion. Has anyone replaced their tray? Except for routing the battery cables thru tray on positive side of battery, it doesn稚 look like it would be that hard? Advice appreciated?

If you've got it cleaned up and primed and painted, I've had great luck using plasti-dip as a final coating. Black and red are pretty available, but there is a rainbow of colors if you look online.
I used it on the hold down on my Subaru years ago - battery off gassing. 11 years later, it looks like I just dipped it.

I'm unfamiliar with your tractor and don't know how much room you've got but if you can fit one in the space a battery box like used on a boat may do it. It's a plastic box completely enclosing the battery.

I have looked at battery boxes but they normally have a space on bottom that makes the battery too tall to attach the cables to top posts. Also there is a metal tab that the tie-down bars pull the battery diagonally (from top forward corner to bottom rear corner) to keep it from moving. The space is limited. I bought 2 different boxes and both too big to fit. Same with trays. Best I can do so far is a battery mat underneath saturated with baking soda. I may sand tray, prime it and try final coat with plasti-dip . Plasti-dip claims to be acid resistant . It’s hard to imagine it is acid resistant but has a rubber type base? But I’m gonna try it. Nothing else has seemed to work long term.

This is absolutely the ideal solution. It's fast, cheap, and fool proof (theoretically). It can be cut to reduce the height, hello ! In my case, hay chaff plugged the drain holes so the 'corrosion was not from battery acid, but from the mix of water, hay dust, and dirt sucked in by the radiator fan.
