Deere 5075E MFWD OOS w/PR, 540E; Gator 825i
I reached out to a couple of dealers about the prices on new 5065E/5075E machines. My local dealer seems to have a pretty good quote thus far:

2013 JD 5075E MFWD
-553 Loader
-PowrReverser 12/12 Transmission
-ePTO / MFWD indicator / digital dash (part of the PRT package)
-Std. features like 16.9x28 rear tires, rear SCV, etc.

$34,186 out the door.

Price for a 5065E with all of the same: $33,816

Who in their right mind wouldn't want an extra 10hp engine / 8hp PTO for $370?!

Seems like a pretty good price to me, what do y'all think?

I could save $2218 by leaving the PRT package off, but that's money I would regret saving in the future, I think. Not to mention the fuel I'm going to save with the ePTO!

He said he would give me $10,500 for my 2007 5103 2wd/512 FEL with 240 hours, though. That's a lot lower than I think I could do privately. There's 0% financing for 60 months. Or $1000 cash credit for paying cash. I can't make up my mind on that one.

Thoughts?

Consider getting three rear hydraulic remotes, I only ordered two on my 5095M and there have been several times already where I wish I had three, you never know when you'll be considering a machinery purchase that has 3 cylinders.

I personally would go with the financing, keep my cash for emergencies, provided you have a steady job and can make the payments now and 4 years from now, with the 0% its free money. If you don't know what your life is going to be like 4 years from now, pay the cash, you can always sell the tractor if times are tough.

What is John Deere credit going to charge you for starting the loan??

Can I get it (2013 5075E) without the loader/loader package, but still with MFWD and power reverser and two set of remotes for $25 cash?

man your jd dealer is cutting your throat on your trade in.but hey most dealers try that,an get away with it if your not as smart as they are.but being 2wd drive hurts your trade in.you could prolly get $15,000 private treaty.when i traded tractors a month ago i told the dealer what i wanted for my trade.an they was bucking on the deal so told them either meet my trade price or deal is off.we came to an agreement an the trade was done.

It really is tough to pass up 0% financing. I have the cash to pay for it, it's just a matter of if I want to really spend it. If I do the financing, I will probably pay off the financing before the end of the year. Always nice to have some cash flow around the Nov/Dec months.

He didn't say what the finance charge would be. Just $300 for insurance, and that I could save $1K paying cash. I had thought that was savings from the origination fees for the lending, but I saw on Deere's website that is just the cash refund as part of the fall financing promo that is the other option available from the 9%.

My dealer quoted me $27,800 for the 5065E with the 512 FEL. So I think you could find a dealer willing to get you in for $25K cash. But I doubt you would get the PowrReverser package for that price. I think you'd be around $27K for that unless a dealer was really willing to deal.

Yeah, I kind of laughed on the inside when he told me $10,500 for the 5103 trade. The tractor is in great shape. I already have it listed on Craigslist for $15,500. I would rather finance more of the deal on the new tractor and get another $3-$4K for my 5103 than take a beating on trading it in for so low.

Shop the trade in. What dealer are you using? I got my guys up from $22K to $29K on a tractor.

Also - consider financing just to get the JD insurance. The price is right and they pay out on damage. That is one reason I bought another shredder - they can pay to fix it when/if I break it. I was considering buying another batwing for that same reason. They tell me that they only do the insurance when you buy a tractor and then they cover the implements.

On the rear valves. It is not only the number of them, but they are the deluxe model. So if you want to run a motor, etc. if I was ordering new I would get triple rear and mid. The 5093e I am buying only has 2 rear and 2 mid.

My 5525 didn't have the 3 mid - I added it later. Used it all weekend - grapple buckets rock.

I still say get a cab...

Get the PR trans - you will wonder why you didnt do it earlier.

Ag Power in Tyler was where I got the $34K and trade in quote. I had a different non-JD dealer tell me $11,500 for the trade. I have it listed on Craigslist as I'm not in a huge hurry to get rid of it.

Good points on the mid and read SCV's. I will see what adding a few cost.

Also good point on the insurance. Hadn't thought about that.

I can't bring myself to spend the extra on a cab right now, and the Mrs / Boss isn't too keen on it either. That's why I am springing for the PowrReverser - she will like that a lot. ;)

I hear ya. I let me wife talk me into a 4520 cab instead of another 5525 cab. The 4520 is going away for the 5093e.

I even tried the "I don't want to drop our daughter off the tractor" line. Her response; "oh, sweetie, you're the most responsible person I have ever met. I can't see you doing that" LOL

I guess have trained her too well in some areas.
