My 2014 G3038H needed a little maintenance after 685 hours. I got everything else, but I am stuck on the brake center through shaft (cross/actuator shaft). I took everything off it and determined it was my problem. Dirt got in there and the two bushings are moving hard. It won’t let the brake pedal bounce back. I need to clean it out (done) and replace the bushings.
I can’t get the shaft to budge. I hit it quite hard. Anyone done this have any suggestions? I know I can take it to a tractor shop if necessary, but I like accomplishing stuff myself. I have most car and pickup truck tools.
Is this just a “hit it harder” thing or is there some hydraulic press the tractor people have?
I live in central Maine and beat the heck out of this thing from -20 to 90 degrees Fahrenheit. I use it beyond its limits. I fully expect maintenance based on what I do with it. I have been through 3 front tires, recall on pistons done, broke front bull guard, broke part of 3 pt hitch, just about time to get a new bucket, use a rear wood splitter, a front snowplow that is too big for it, mower, bush hog, rototiller, 4 tire chains, loaded rear tires, etc.... I bought it new 01/2015 and wouldn’t trade it for anything.
The only one thing I hate about this tractor is the skid steer quick connect that came with the LL3104 loaded. It sucks. I have to put a pipe on it to open and close (even after cleaning and greasing it). Anyone know of a better replacement? I am thinking of putting a hydraulic cylinder on it for opening and closing. (I have two sets of remotes, but would probably just do it with a 6 port valve at the front of the loader.)
