Mahindra 2015 4wd
I was just wondering if anybody could give me a ballpark figure on what the 50 hour service on a 2015 gear will cost from start to finish, assuming I do the work. I'm at 49.5 hours right now. Thanks

not much, the filter should be a little under $15 or so depending on the dealer location and the cost of oil, that's it.

Knute, that's a great post. Very infomative. I love this little tractor too. I can't believe what its capable of. I just get a little concerned because I do alot of loader work, and I hope the clutch holds up for a long time. ( I baby it)

But I can't help but notice... ...You say you used heavy weight gear oil in the front axle. The oil in mine from the factory seems to be just plain hydraulic fluid. (very light) I'd much rather use gear oil. Is that what the manual said, or did you improvise?? (I just skimmed through the manual. I may have missed a thing or 2!)

Just my way but I would ignore the manual on the 50 hour......Change EVERTHING. HST filter, hydraulic filter, fuel filter, hydraulic oil and of course the engine oil and filter. Use all Mitsu filters. I would also drain and flush the fuel tank. Do the same at 100 hours and then use the factory intervals. I would almost bet there is some water in the hydraulics and the fuel. These things set around before they are sold and the heating and cooling always causes some condensation. If these units are shipped dry to the dealer be cautious about the type of oil the dealer used. Mine used "Les Frickshun" (sp). I almost fainted! Find the oil that works for you and stick with it. Mystik JT5 works well in the Mitsu HST. The front axle definitely needs 90wt GL5. Remember the 2015 is not a Mahindra. It is a Mitsubishi. Do it the Mitsu way.......

My dealer told me to change over to hydraulic fluid in the front axle. I believe this change was initiated from the factory.

I wonder which factory? Mitsubishi has been building this model since 1994 at least and they have always specified GL5 in the front diff. I would have to see something from Mitsu before I would buy into this. Mahindra did not engineer this tractor nor did they build it so caution is advised. The 2015 is a Mitsu MT200D. If Mitsu says to use hydraulic fluid in the front diff on this one then I am a believer......Reluctantly!
