Have a 2040 John Deere that has a brake issue. When we were baling hay last summer we lost the one side brake, this year we were baling hay and lost the other side also. Tore the brake valve off the tractor and installed a rebuild kit, did not see anything real wrong with the valve componets but found that there was a silver substance in the valve that looked like silver anti-seize, cleaned out the valve, drained oil, replaced filters and rebuilt the valve. Installed the valve that was rebuilt and tried to bleed the brakes, can not get the brakes to bleed, if the ports from the valve are plugged there is pressure at the pedal, not sure where to go with this.
