Hello,
I have a new-to-me 2040 (late 70's model). With the clutch pedal fully depressed, at times it's still very difficult to engage the PTO as there is intense vibration in the PTO lever when I try to engage it, almost as if the PTO clutch isn't fully releasing. I'll check tomorrow to see if there's an adjustment that may further separate the clutch. Otherwise is some amount of vibration in the lever normal? Not sure if it's related but a tiller we had attached which did not vibrate on a smaller tractor does vibrate as i Rev the engine up through mid-range and then smooths out at actual PTO speed.
Separate question, is there a reason it seems most finish mowers are 5-6'? This tractor has 40 PTO HP so I would think pulling an 8-10' finish mower on short turf would be quite doable.
Thanks!
