2050 engine speed for pto

A friend has a 2050 with a 5' bush hog. I ran it yesterday for him as he is not able right now. What is the correct engine rpm and what pto gear is correct. I used pto 2nd and ran about 2200.

If the bush hog is rated for 540 then run it in 1st pto speed.
