Hello gents, looking for some assistance.

I thought I ran out of fuel, so I put more in. It took a few starts, but finally got going. After going for a few minutes and yards, I lost power and died. Was able to start it a few times, but ran ragged and quit. Couldn't get it started again.

I do have a manual somewhere. But, since I can't find it, I figured you all might know.

There's a glass bowl in the fuel line. I don't know if it's for water, or sediment, or what. It has a lever on it that seems to want to be in three different positions: straight down or 90 degrees different to one side or the other. There are some markings on it that look Asian, and the two horizontal positions have the same markings.

I was sure that the lever should be pointing straight down, but the tractor finally got started when I messed with that lever and now I don't know how it relates.

Any help?

Thanks.

David

Well, I guess I figured it out.

The lever is simply to keep the fuel from dribbling out when you take the bowl off.

I ran the tractor out of fuel (almost) and when I got the tractor started again, I thought it was because I moved the lever. Unfortunately, I moved it to the off position, and then ran the tractor for a bit. So, now, I just need to get fuel back to the engine and I should be in luck.

Thanks.

Read my thread about the 1030 out of fuel. Jerry put some good advice there.
