2110 hyd.screen reinstall

Hi,
We are ready to reinstall the plate/screen on our 2110 4x4 after cleaning the screen. I can't find anything on whether to install the gasket dry or if I should use a sealer or adhesive. I would assume that since it should be cleaned every 300 hours, I should leave it dry, or add a film of oil?. Thanks, Dale

Is that a ford 2110? I did not use anything on the paper gasket. The old one was a bit oily though.a tiny bit of RTV blue can't hurt if you want to keep the gasket steady from sliding around.

Yes, a '86 Ford 2110, with loader and assorted attachments. I applied a thin film of oil to gasket (both sides), and installed. No leaks anywhere. Thanks for the response though. I tried to get an intro out earlier and post a question, but as I have dial-up, I kept getting kicked off line. So I went on with the project and while we were waiting for the oil to drain, I decided to try my 1st post while at Dad's.

Good deal Dale, oil film would not hurt the gasket at all. Dial up makes checking this forum a bit troublesome due to the volume of pics posted here.

PS. I don't know how close you are to Medford. South West Oregon gotta be a pretty neat place to live.

About 3 hours away JC. I live 15 miles east of Coos Bay at a little place called Allegany. I did live in Ashland for a couple years while going to SOSC. The Ashland/Medford area is my "2nd home", though we don't get down there much.
