2120 Ford Tractor?

Does any one out there have any experience with the 2120 ford compact 4x4? I have never heard of the actual manufacturer who was Shibaura and would like to know if their stuff was any good? According to tractor data if was made from 1987-2000 and is a 4 cylinder 42 HP engine. What do you all have to say?

Love mine. I did have to replace the clutch due to the splines stripping out. Not sure the reason. Dealer said maybe poor metal. May have been owner abuse. I do use it for logging and road building have been rough on it. I was just doing a comparison with the newer tractor's and it's about the same thing as the 45d and 3045 New Holland makes now. Shibaura makes the engines for these and many NH tractors. You'll find a lot of threads here about them and most are favorable.

My 1700 is a smaller model made by the same people. Tractor has been great. It is starting to feel it's age, but after 30 years that is going to happen. I have had it for 12+ years and still happy with it.

Barry, the problem with asking an open question about a tractor is that you have to wait for people to see your post and read it. If you use the search option and search for 2120 in the NH Owning/Operating forums, you will find lots of posts and people who really love this tractor. They are very well thought of and reliable workhorses.

Go back and compare the rest of the spec's. A 2120 is about half again the tractor that a TC45D is. A 2120 has the mass and tire size to accommodate the HP.

I bought my 2120 new back in 1994 or 95 . Have done nothing but normal service , ( no repairs what so ever )

I had a 1920 for a while.. it's the younger brother to the 2120.. i think they are one of fords better machines.

I own a 1720 with a whopping 450 hours on it...
I would love to get a 2120 but those things are really expensive...
I think that the 20 series New Hollands were their best compact's ever built...

If you put 2120 in the Search you get 500 entries. Lots has been said about these rigs.
