My neighbor said he was at the local Walmart yesterday and bought a box of 500 .22 ammo for $19 and there was no limit. That is the first I had heard about the pricing and availability being back somewhat normal.

Anyone else finding the same thing.

It has been back for a good while now. I order mine online to avoid sales tax and get free shipping by the case. I still have a ton I stocked up on well before the last shortage began since I had a hunch it might come.

Twenty-two ammo has never been lacking in this area. I don't think I could buy 100 bricks of 22 at Wallmart -they probably don't keep that much in stock. I saw a fellow buy ten bricks about two months ago.

I buy it online for $.04 a round no sales tax and free shipping
Try to not buy ammo locally since Tennessee adds an extre $0.10 tax per box of ammo, on top of the sales tax
... Currently have 15,000 rounds of .22LR. It goes fast tho

the last I bought at Wal Mart, I think was $22 and some change. Plus tax.

No bricks on the shelf at Bi-Mart, but 40 round boxes of American Eagle 36 gr. copper washed hp. are $2.49 regular price, no limit. 500 rounds for $19 is a good price, unless it's Remington. In that case, it's a ripoff.

What is wrong with Remington ammo> I don't think I have ever had a problem with any ammo other than a failure to fire occasionally when it gets old. I have some that is over 15 years old and still mostly fires 99.9% of the time and I don't see any brand discrimination in the failures.

In any case, the .22 drought seems to have ended. We here in Branson Mo, seemed to be the last to get a supply of ammo where you could count on going to the store and finding some, but it seems to be here now to stay. Unless something bad happens.

Supplies are back but the days of $1 for a 50 round box are over.

Remington has lousy quality control on their primer. Parts of the rim have no primer, and will not fire. Rotate the round and try again, and chances are it will fire. Meanwhile you are stuck digging live rounds out of tall grass. The only place I will fire Remington .22 ammo is at the range where duds are somebody else's problem. I refuse to buy it.
