Spreader 220 New Holland manure spreader

I need help with the adjustment on the apron chain speed the long rod that runs the length of the body came unhooked When i hooked it back up in the only hole it looked like it came from it won t let the timing dogs on the wheel work and broke the chain on the back beaters .I also am looking for a manual but cannot find one on ebay or antique tractors If any one knows about these old spreaders or has one i would appreciate any help i can send pics or a video
