I can not remove the inner shaft. I do not have a manual for the tractor and would like some help on removing the shaft. It would be greatly appreciated if you could give some advice. Thank you.

My old eyes can't see good enough to see if you have removed the outer oil seal and then a snap ring that holds the bearing in the housing. If not, that is what you need to do. Just pry out the oil seal, it will be trash. Remove the snap ring and that should allow it to come out.

Thank you so much: you were correct. I found the snap ring and removed it. Now i can not get the shaft out. Any idea?

I haven't been there, done that, so take what I say with a grain of salt..
1st, can you get to any part of it from the inside to bump on it with a hard piece of wood. Just be careful not to damage your shaft or gear.
2nd, do I see threads on the inside of that shaft and if so, what size. If so, probably metric. You might fabricate a little hammer puller with a long bolt or threaded rod if threads are available and large enough.
3rd, I believe #2 in that drawing is a 35mm freeze plug. Do I know that? NO! I entered the part # on google and am convinced it is no longer available. Yanmar parts lists often give size information and 35 is listed under that part so I am guessing that is 35mm. I crawled up under my tractor and in limited room it does measure about 1.378 which equates to 35mm. Steel Expansion Plug Cup Type 35mm, Height 0.380 In. by Dorman - Autograde - 55 - part# 555-093
Finally, given the engineering I see in the drop box I don't believe those bearings are going to be a tight fit. They should be a tap in fit. I didn't work for Yanmar but have worked on stuff like this all my life.

So I took your advice (with a grain of salt; of course) and checked out the dropbox. I looked at the rear and found a solid, round area. No round plug on my model.
Here is what I found:
So I decided I would have to tap it out with a piece of wood; as you mentioned. I tapped a little and saw a little progress. I knew I must be on the right page. So I keept on tapping. Finally I got the bearing past the end of the box. So now I have come to yet another problem. Now the shaft is loose but am not able to find a way to remove it completely. I need to get it out so I can change this gear.
Any other advice for me now?

Hard for me to run out of ideas. That gear should slide off the shaft on the back end. It has a spring with 2 balls that will hold it to a degree in position but will slide on the spline.
What will hold it is the rear bearing. Is there room to get a punch in there to tap that bearing off the shaft? Might damage the bearing and may have to replace it.
Does what I am saying make any sense to you?
Another remote possibility is to pull the front bearing off the shaft and that might give room to pull gear shaft and all out the top. I really can't tell from just looking at the pictures. I believe there is a sleeve in front of the bearing but there is an o-ring under it and it should pull off with the bearing. :thumbsup:

I understand what you are saying. I actually have the three piece set of those pullers from hf. I will try to mess with the rear first so I don't have to pull that bearing. Don't want to mess anything up. I am already looking at 300 plus to get this working. I will let you know my progress. Sorry it takes so long for updates but i have ADD and can never focus on the task at hand. I can get distracted just by going to get a new tool.

Ok I got sidetracked and forgot to post that I removed the gears. Guess what.. These gears have been discontinued. I can no longer buy them. If anyone has any ideas on how to get these or has some laying around please let me know. I called hoye tractor and he will try to locate.. No guarantee there. I will get some pics soon.
