Some say it is difficult to get at the hydrostat suction screen on a 2210. I've done it 4 times now and it gets easier every time. Note photos attached.
step 1; drain hydro fluid
step 2; remove suction screen cover retaining nut and washers.
step 3; with pliers move 2 clamps on rubber elbow to center of elbow so that the elbow is loose on both ends
step 4; rotate suction screen cover towards rear of machine which will simultaneously rotate the rubber elbow off the fitting.
step 5; pop out suction screen cover. This isn't so easy as it sounds, it seems to bind and stick but usually comes with a bit of twisting and jiggling.
step 6; pull out suction screen and clean with a rag. also remove magnets from inside and wipe clean.
step 7; insert cleaned screen with magnets inside into housing, leave 1/2 out so you can insert into the cover, then insert both screen and cover. again, some jiggling and
twisting, maybe assist with pliers. once in, rotate cover and fitting towards the rubber elbow and insert. Rotate both together to original position and replace all fastenrs. It's that easy! 100_1762.jpg100_1760.jpg100_1759.jpg
And it helps to get the tractor up off the ground....

100_1759.jpg850 hour service; I drove the tractor up onto blocks. I did the hydro stat service AND motor oil change at the same time. Very easy, just wish I had a lift in my garage...
