Re: 2210 Hyd. Leak / Deere Warranty Policy! UPDATE
After 3 days of playing phone tag with Deere customer service, I was finally informed today that they cannot do anything for me. I then talked to the general manager at Nelson's and his only offer was to charge $25 for P/D rather then $25 each way.
I tried the "come out and fix it at my house" trick when it was new and had a couple of delivery issues....no go on that one, Nelson's would not send someone out.
So now I'm wondering......why not just pull the plate and reinstall myself using the proper seal and silicone? Will they really replace the plate or just re-install?
I told the GM that I was going to talk with service first to find out what they will do. If it's only a seal replacement, I can do it myself in 15 minutes and avoid the hassle of taking time off work twice for pickup/delivery and the associated hassles. If they're really going to install a reinforced plate, then it's probably worth the hassle now to hopefully avoid more later.
One other FYI...Nelson's never registered my 2210 with John Deere....Deere Customer service could not find it in their system. When I asked the GM about this he quickly pointed out that I got "4 more months of warranty" since the clock didn't start ticking until my 2210 was entered this week.........wasn't sure at that point rather to thank him, curse him, or just hang up the phone.
I'll let y'all know the outcome....again, appreciate the comments and advice.
