2210 oil filter

I have gone to my local auto parts dealer to obtain an oil filter for my 2210 that I puchased in May of this year. I want to change the engine oil before the winter. Wix filters does not list this filter nor does Fram or GM in their most recent books. Does anybody know of a part number from an aftermarket source or am I going to have to get this filter from Deere? I have always used a Wix filter for my 455(this filter is listed in the catalogs).

Believe it or not... I got a part number from NAPA auto parts (I'll have to see if I can find it tonight) but the price at Deere was more than a $1.00 CHEAPER. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
Go figure... the Deere part must have less time on the shelves so they charge less at John Deere?
I have not checked on the Hydro filter for my 2210.
I'll see if i can find the part number later tonight.

The air filters were much cheaper at Napa. The oil filter was a little higher. Had to get a Deere hydo filter. Fuel filter cheaper at Napa.

Check the filter web sites. Most have a X-over app. Don't know about WIX though.
One thing though, I've tried to X-over the hydro filter without any success.

Expect you're looking at $10 or so for the John Deere filter -- not much savings at a parts store.

The JD part # is M806418. It is around $6.00 at the dealer. It should be the same filter for the 455. How much was the Wix filter?

From Fram's site, using the Competitor X-ref utility, they call for Fram filter PH6607.

Greg is right.
Fram has it as part number PH6607.
NAPA's, is part number 1365 or FIL1365.

I am curious to see if the Fram is any cheaper than NAPA or Deere.
If not, I'll continue to go to Deere for the 2210 filters.
Has anyone crossed an air filter yet?

It is probably better to buy from Deere because the more they see you... the more they know you.
Then when it is time to trade in... you'll get a better deal.

You may want to also check out this site Oil Filter Study. An independent study performed by an individual. It's an interesting semi-scientific study that makes me take another look at what filter to use. I'm not all that interested in filter cost. I want one that will provide the best service for the money and price is not always the best indicator.
