1. I cannot get the mmm deck to stay locked in the up position to operate the 3 pt hitch. Raised it all the way up, moved the dial on the mower hight control to the lock position. When the rockshaft lever is moved the deck goes down.

2. The lock lever for the scv will not go into the lock position unless the svc lever is giggled around.

Any ideas? called the dealer this morning and they said "will get right back to you" no call yet.

Don,
I think your mower deck lift linkage is out of adjustment if the deck won't lock all the way up. If it was delivered new to you this way, the dealer should readjust this, and it wouldn't hurt to watch so you can see what they do. I believe the adjustment is on the long rod that ties into the linkage at the 3ph. There have been many of those setups done where that rod was bent also, again from improper setup.

As far as the loader lock, I think what you describe is normal. It isn't a very sophisticated system.

Other than that, do you like your 2210?
How long have you had it?

Dutch445, Thanks for the reply, I thought I was loosing my mind. They are going to pick it up and repair it. The tractor was suppose to be checked before delivery (Yeah Right).

I love the tractor even though I only put a couple of hours on it. Took delivery 10/30/04.

I'm afraid to get the tires dirty! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Don,

When I had my 2210 delivered, the dealer had been very thorough. Everything was checked and everything worked. Each bold had been re-torqued and painted with a white mark to let the technician know it had been done. Based on your sarcasim about the dealer, I'd ask he check out everything: nuts, bolts, systems etc.

JDFANATIC, thanks for the advise...I will tell them they can go through the check list now. I have the paint marks on mine too and asked the delivery guy if they had marked them and he said "no".

There is more to the story, chipped hood and rusted, a nut missing on belt cover of the deck. No manuals for the front blade and quick hitch. A water logged FEL manual that dried out and is wrinkled.

Its just a lot of minor things that should have been taken care of before delivery. I just don't get it.

DonS, sounds like you need to contact John Deere corporate about your experience with what the dealer provided (and didn't provide). When one spends these kind of dollars, they expect more and should get it. Of the three dealers that I have dealt with in my area, you would never get such a 'crappy' experience.

The other posts are correct. The lock will not work if the deck doesn't raise high enough. When the 3pt is completely up, you should have a small clearance between the lift arms and the frame and spelled out in the operator's guide. More clearance = unable to lock the deck up.

After using my 2210 for one summer I readjusted the lift arm to raise the deck to the minimum spec and it works great. Also found this made the cutting height be much closer to the markings around the knob. Easy to do once you figure it out but definitely make the dealer adjust it this time!

I decided not to call JD, and called the manager of the company I purchased the tractor from. He apologized and promised to make the tractor right. As for him being a manager he sure didn't know much about the tractor. He said there was an optional kit to hold the deck up. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif There going to pick it up tomorrow.

Does anyone know if the fuel gauge is suppose to be water tight? When the tractor was delivered there was condensation inside of it but eventually dried up.
