I have a 2210. A couple of weeks back I hit a small piece of 2 x 4 with the rear blower. It stopped the tractor dead. I was pretty worried at the time that it may have damaged the rear PTO. All seemed fine and everything ran well after the piece of wood was removed. I noted that the fuse bolt/shear pin in the coupling was a grade 8 bolt. I was kinda bothered by that as it's the one that came in it new. Well while out clearing the neighbors yard today the blower stopped and the PTO made an awful grinding whine. When I pulled the shaft off of the PTO the stub shaft was loose and wobbly. Hydraulic oil is leaking pretty bad. the actual rear housing that's bolted on the back that the shaft sticks through may have sustained some damage as the shaft wobbled against it. I know some of the others here have had the same or similar problems when hitting stuff with a bush hog or a tiller. I'm really ticked that the blower had a grade 8 bolt in there. If any of the members with a similar tractor have had to do this repair can you fill me in on just how bad it is. I and engineering tech and have a lot of tools. Can I DIY this? I'm betting the parts are big dollars too.
