2210 top link plate leak - again

Sorry to hear about this problem, I've had my 2210 since the 1st of Augusta and have over 105 hours on her. No leaks so far, John Deere must have had engineering change since the first model. As far as built out of the country, any one that reads these forums on this web site (best so far) should know where their little toy is made. I'm proud of the decision I made and got all the information to do it off this site. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Yanmar is a major tractor and diesel engine manufacturer in Japan. They make a high quality tractor and and one time completely built all of John Deere's compact tractors. Now they build the X90 series and supply engines for the 4X10 series. I believe they build the entire 4010 and the 2210 tractors. There is absolutely nothing wrong with a Yanmar tractor. Their tractors from the 1980's were as advanced and in some cases more advanced with more options than some of the new tractors offered in the USA now.

Mike, sorry to hear it is seeping again. I understand your hesitancy to send it back in. You should let your dealer know anyway and tell him just that. He may be able to extend the warranty for the case and any other related components. He might also be able to do better than that. Good luck----

Mine started leaking at around 100hrs. I printed out the original thread from this site. I went to the JDparts site and printed out where the original link plate part number that was changed to a new part number. I also took pictrues of the new link plate that I found at another dealer, other than the one I purchased my tractor from. With all of this information I went to my JD dealer prepared for the worst. Was he suprised with what I showed him, so suprised he could not argue with me. He replace the link plate with the new one at no charge. Pick up and delivery no charge.
There is now 200hr and no signs of a leak, nock on wood...
