JD 2210
Has any one else shredded the plastic tranny fan on their 2210 ??? I picked up a stick and knocked the fan blades off. I was just wondering if any one else replaced their own. I haven't brought the tractor home yet but I just finished clearing and burning 2 acres of timber. The 2210 paid for itself on this project thanks to a set of Brush forks. I also have a new Black Bear that has taken a liking to JD yellow foam seats. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif I need to take it in for service as well. At 85 hours I developed the infamous top link leak.

Does any one know if their is a service manual available for the 2210 ???

Yes, there is a technical manual available for the 2210. It is JD P/N TM2074. I paid about $80 for it if I remember correctly and ordered thru my dealer to save shipping.
There is also a parts catalog JD P/N PC9254, think I paid about $40 for it. If you do your own service work I would recommend the purchase of both manuals (the parts manual may be on the JD web site) but I like working from a hard copy.

Doc I have seen other post about the fan looks like a common problem.
I have a Maint manual for a 2210 I am willing to get rid of. I think I paid $45.00 for it when I got my 2210. I am around the Lan, MI area. I am the one that move from the 2210 to 4115. I like the 4115 better for doing all the things you are doing, but like the 2210 better for mowing.

Thanx guys I will give the dealer a call and see about the manual. Can you tell in yours what is involved in replacing the fan ? It looks like the 4x4 drive shaft has to come off and maybe a cross brace. I only took a quick look though as I have not brought it home yet.

do you still have that service manual? if so i am interested

Yes I do still have Maint Manual. I have no use for it but did not want to give back to the dealer being I paid for it. He did not want to buy back. It is like new I only had my 2210 for about 7 months. So now have manuals for 2210 and 4115.
I have been gone a lot so don't get on here much so sorry for the delay.

I'd be interested too. If the deal falls through, let me know. I'll be on travel next week (6/13-6/18) if you don't hear from me.

I got the 2210 back from the dealer today. $7.50 for the fan $300 for labor. JD certainly could have made fan replacement just a titch easier Vs tearing down the whole tractor. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif I really can't complain. My 2210 was used to clean and burn 1 acre of very dense woods. Some trees were in the 75-100' range. Thats a LOT of work with brush forks for the little tractor. It sure was fun, ( now that the works done ) though. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif The dealer also replaced the top link plate/hinge with the new HD one under warranty. It really is amazing what theese little tractors can do !

Would you have more info about this top link plate/hinge and the DTAC numbers, or kit # info?

My brother has a 2210 and I'd like to help him keep up to date as to problems (i.e. the fan), etc.

Thanks for the update. Costly work, but sounds like the 2210 did well for you.
