2210 vs. 54\" rear blower

I ordered a 2210 last week with a 54" rear blower (forgot make) and was concerned weather it would be stable enough with fluid in tires and front weights only. I'm still waiting for delivery so I can't check. The dealer said that with the 210 loader there is no problem, however, I didn't want the loader. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

So is it gonna bounce the front wheels off the ground with just the fluid and front weights or will be stable enough? I was looking at the curtis cabs (more weight) but the price is keeping me away for now. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Re: 2210 vs. 54\" rear blower

What is the weight of the blower? the dealer should know that. How much weight on the front end?

I think with the front weights, filled tires and your MMM you should be fine. Would like to see a picture of the blower attached if you can post..

Re: 2210 vs. 54\" rear blower

I've put 60" units on the back of BX's but they do have loaders on the front for leverage to offset the blower. The BX does have a shorter wheelbase then the 2210 and is physically smaller in length and width. With out knowing the amount of front weight, it makes this tough to answer but I would assume the dealer would be putting a full load of front weights on, and you should be ok.

Re: 2210 vs. 54\" rear blower

I've used a 500+ pound aerator on the back with 210 pounds of suitcase weights on the front and it was solid as a rock. My 2210 is very well balanced and ballasted for most loader work with a 325 pound box blade on the back when moving dirt, etc., with the 49" loader bucket.

Hope this helps.

I didn't ask him. I bought the thing in a hurry because I was pressed for time that day and I knew 2210s didn't last long on the lot. I believe it is around 350-450 pounds of weight. But if a 500 pound aerator wont budge it, I don't think the blower will.

I see alot of you fellas bought the loader. My initial impression on it was not very high after observing the frame and alluminum transaxles and limited capacity. I just assumed to step up to 4000s if I needed frequent loader use where I would get a tough package. Regardless, I bought an awesome tractor and I can't wait for it to arrive to bid my trusty 425 AWS goodbye and farewell.

Thanks for the replies!

Re: 2210 vs. 54\" rear blower

<font color="green">Even with its limited capacity on a 2210, I quickly learned how valuable a front end loader could be as a real back saver.

I often use it in place of a wagon or wheel barrow, setting the bucket to the right height for the task I need to accomplish.

Just yesterday I used it to move some firewood and some bricks. Even used it to knock over a couple of small, dead trees about 10 inches in diameter. The loader's height was sufficient to provide the leverage I needed. Granted the trees had been dead for several years and their roots had rotted so it wasn't surprising that they could be knocked over. I simply found it quicker giving the tree a push instead of cutting it with a chain saw and then still having to deal with the stump. The trees went over stump and all.

Re: 2210 vs. 54\" rear blower

The 210 loader is surprisingly capable. I have moved a few dozen yards of soil, dug out stumps from several 13-16" diameter trunk trees, and lifted and carried its full limit which is something around 700 pounds at the pivot point at around 5 feet high. It's no toy loader for a small tractor.

Re: 2210 vs. 54\" rear blower

When I bought mine I really thought the FEL was going to be a joke. I have dug up 6" maple stumps, cleared sites, pushed brush, moved more rocks dirt etc includeing firewood. I thought when I bought it that the FEL would see very little use. It probably accounts for over 75% of my use. I think it does just about everything the 4010 series will do just a bit slower. No need for a snow blower here, The FEL works great for snow removeal. Dave
