225 hydraulic leak

I just brought my tractor back after the forth time to the shop for a leak. They have been great about it , but I am a bit concerned. The leak is around the rod entrance for the shifter. They said it had 2 o-rings on it and that may have been the problem, but Bobcat info only shows one. They said it was a bit odd that the rod did not have a grove to capture the o-ring. It just kinda rides on the shaft. Anyone have any info on this?

Photo in the service manual shows groove in the shaft for O-ring, but you have to remove the side cover from the transmission to pull the shaft out and see the O-ring groove. Did dealer remove this cover? and if so why did they not replace the shaft or check with Bobcat if there was no groove for the O-ring?

Dealer sent question to Bobcat to see if the grove is required. They were waiting to hear back. They were supposed to be in touch. I guess it is possible that a shaft without the grove could have gotten into the mix, but we will see.

It is still leaking. I would guess an ounce or two per day.

Shaft like this are usually made in batch runs do if you had one make it through there are probably more out there. Hopefully the rest of them ended up in Kioti production :laughing: No offense Kioti guys, just kidding. It is something to keep in mind, if it was a missed machining step it could end up in either color.
