1954 Ford NAA
First of all, thanks for all the info I have gleaned just brousing though the forums.
I am considering a Yanmar 2310 4X4 with loader to replace my Ford NAA. I'm mosltly doing driveway maintenance on a fairly steep gravel drive, snow removal, some bush hogging, and gardening. Can someone provide info on the 2310, like years of production, suitability for my purposes, will I wish for power steering, etc. With my NAA, I can only work my drive going down hill, and it doesn't go slow enough for bush hog work.
Thanks,
Hank in Copper Hill, VA

Hank,
Welcome to the tractor information capitol of the world. I can't help with the 2310 much, but Yanmar makes a great tractor.

I have a 2310 without 4wd. I till my garden (aprox 1/2 acre) mow abourt 2 acres (6' finish mower) and used it to back blade the dense grade gravel level to build my workshop. It worked well for me. It is the same as an early version YM276 which was sold by Yanmar in the US. I have both the operators and maintainence manuals for the YM276. Built around 1980-1982, however the number of hours on the tractor is more important than when it was manufactured. The tractor has a creeper gear used for tilling which can accurately be described a true snails pace, so slow speed is not a problem. I have a 5' bushhog but do not really use it much because I finish mow the side field right now. Power steering is nice but I don't have it. Might be a plus for a FEL. 4wd will allow you to work up or downhill.

Hank,

From the description of your chores, I would say that the 2310D would do the job for you. I maintain 6 acres of horse property with mine including mowing, pen cleaning and (if we get lucky) snow removal. I use a 6' back blade, spring tooth harrow and a 5' brush hog type mower. It handles all of them well. Tall grass with the mower is a load on it and necessitates slowing down a little but more time on the tractor is a "good thing". Any other questions, let me know. I've own a 2310d for about one month. Notice the gas pedal is starting to get stuck. I have to left it up with my foot in order to turn off tractor. Could it be lack of a little grease or oil?

pilo you might try this first, follow the control rod down to the pump.spray some wd-40 on that linkage.you might have to work the throttle back and forth a few times and use libreral amts. of wd-40
