2310D PTO

My "new" 2310D PTO is unmarked. It has 4 slots in an "H" pattern. Can anyone tell me where the different speeds are? I really need to get a manual for this! Thanks

Darrel I just looked at my 2310, and this is how it is marked.

4 2

This is looking at the decals mounted on the shifter plate, the 3-4 is inboard closer to the seat, 1-2 closer to the tire. I generally only use #1 so I shift out and up. Hope this helps.

Thanks alot! That helps out. I guess they forgot to put decals on this important piece. Finally got to play with my new tractor yesterday. I've been gone since it showed up two weeks ago. Want to play with all the toys at once. One more question......is the first gear 540rpm? I want to run my mower but don't want to spin it too fast. Thanks again.

Yes, first gear with the engine running around 2500 RPM is 540 PTO RPM. If you slow down the engine the PTO slows down. The 276 operators manual states the working range is 1800-2600 RPM, since the 2310 engine is the same as the 276, I would guess the 2310 has the same operating range. I am not exactly sure the other PTO speeds but the only time I use a faster speed is tilling my garden after I have broken the ground to break up the clumps then I almost always use #2.
