A few past posts appear to state the 200CX came with a 53in bucket as the default size. Today the John Deere configurator lists the 49in as the standard bucket with 53 and 61in optional. What size do you feel best suits a 2320?

Hello dmay
IMO,the 53" would fit the 2320 better.
With the slower hydraulics I feel the 61" would be a bit too much bucket.

Agree 100%. I have the 4110/410-53", which is basically the same machime as the newer 2320...The 53" bucket is well matched for that machine.

I also agree, I have a 2305. You won't be tempted to overload your bucket that way. Even though one JD dealer I went to, tried to sell me a 61" bucket when I went for a quote.

The 53" bucket is the best choice IMO. The larger buckets are better suited for folks who consistently load very light material, such as wood chips or mulch. The key here is that these machines can lift more than they can handle. Even with my 53" bucket, I have lifted rocks with my 2320 that have pulled one or both rear wheels off the ground, even with loaded rear tires and a box blade in back. Bear in mind the 2320 does not have a dedicated hydraulic pump, but can still lift the same rated amount as the 2520 and 2720, though slower (those two machines have dedicated implement flow). None of these 2000 series tractors are that heavy, so getting a bucket that is too wide really does not help efficiency and can make things more hazardous than they otherwise need be.

I have a 61 HD bucket with mine. I am very careful what I lift. The big bucket is great for mulch as mentioned above.
The HD is nice so it doesn't look beat up after years of use.

I also have the 61 inch bucket and it has worked fine. I don't understand the recommendations for 53 inch. If I had that I would kick myself every time for not getting a bigger one.

I can only speak to the 53" that I have on my John Deere 2320...I like the fact that it is wide enough to cover my tire tracks plus a couple inches to spare. Because the majority of our property has some type of slope, the 61" would be too wide in many situations because the bucket would just too wide. If we had 'flatter' property, I may have a different opinion. Again, I can only speak to what I have now but to date...I have no complaints with my 53".
