I have been using my 3 point hitch for 2 months now, today I noticed something odd. The links connected to the turn buckes are turned under the shaft. I dont think they are suppose to be like this, the manual shows them in a different orientation. Here are photos.

I have it fixed, it wasnt easy, I had to take off both tires to drive out the supporting pin. It was jammed in there from the friction of the links being stuck underneath. I will keep an eye on this as I tighten up the turnbuckles from now on.

Was your supporting shaft jammed in tight?

Ok I don't want to sound like the safety police....but I will anyways.:)

I had my 2305 supported the same way you have in the picture. I reahed underneath to tighten the trany filter, the Fcunikg thing slipped off the jack and axel caught in the chest on the way down. To this day I don't really know how I got out. I think I kinda of rolled out from underneath. It happen quick.

My wife was around the corner in the yard and heard it fall and saw a tire roll out of the garage(must have leaning on the tractor or something). She though I was 33 years old having a heart attack, I was stuck on the floor with a ghostly white face unable to speak for quite sometime.

Sorry don't forget a secondary methode of support, even if your "not working underneath".........oops the socket rolled underneath.

Remember this: A wise man learns from his mistakes, but a wiser man learns from someone elses' mistake. Please learn from mine!

Effectively your tractor is balancing on two points. The front axle is free pivoting setup so there is zero resistance to stop the tractor rolling left or right and the only thing stopping it from happening is the top of the jack is about 4" wide. One little push and the tractor will tilt until it hits the front axle stops and probably fall off the jack at that point. You are lucky.

I think your exactly right because I only had the left tire off, reaching in from the same side to tighen the screen filter assembly I believe. With a rachet, I was pulling down on the tractor but not knowing it.
It happen slow fast in my mind, but I think it must have actually happen slowy that how I got out.

Lucky.....I don't know......someone was looking out for me that day.

Thanks guys for your concerns. I am very safety conscious, I have the 54" plow on the front and lowered. It makes the operation very stable.
