Tractor
3032e D-140
I was wondering has anyone experinced problems with there 2320 with the 4 wheel drive shaft breaking off in the rear, I was bush hogging 2-4 feet dry grass nothing major when I experinced my front wheel locking up after noticing this problem I drove the tractor to a hard suface and when inspecting noticed that the shaft was broke off in the rear:confused: After taking it to the dealership finding out my 2 year warranty ran out in April I was told it might be covered under the 3 year limited warranty (Drive Train) After waiting three days and contacting Deere direct they are going to cover the repair..... The machine is well maintained and garage kept with only 102 hours..... At this point after talking to close friend that works at the dealership I think I am going to trade it in after the repairs due the fact how severe the problem is, I am currently looking at getting a 3032E and buying a seperate lawn tractor to cut grass I have the 54D but it is kinda of pain due to the multi use... Any thoughts????

I cant help much on wether that is a common problem or not.

But what I can say is IF you do plan on trading it in, DONT buy a 3032 without at least looking at what the competition has to offer. Or even other deeres like the 3320 for that matter.

I'm not saying the 3032 is a bad tractor, but there are some things to be aware of.
1. Loader does not come off.
2. NO backhoe avaliable
3. Very light weight and aluminum castings instead of cast iron.

Again, not knocking the deere. If you decide to get a 3032, great. But you are doing yourself an injustice if you dont look at anything else.

Do a search, I belive there were some years where they install smaller 3/4"(?) shafts instead of 1" (?). Other people have broken the smaller shaft.
