Hi All,

Started up the 2320 the other day and the RPM gauge is not moving (stuck like it was turned off) and the Hour counter isn't counting anymore. Nothing out of the ordinary has been done to the machine. I use the machine almost everyday, so it hasn't been sitting around for a while.

BTW there are 297 hours right now.

I opened the hood to see if I could find something obvious, but nothing looked out of place. Getting into the dash didn't seem very quick and easy so I didn't try.

Other than this, the tractor is acting normal.

Any suggestions, or just I just call the dealer?

Thanks,
BILL

It's driven from a cable like a speedometer cable...maybe it came off? Number 1 in the attached picture:

Hi Kennyd,

Thanks for the response and the diagram. I popped the hood and what I think is that cable you mention seems ok and not disconnected. Looks like I need to open up the console/dash to check if something is wrong in there.

Thanks,
BILL

There's three places that the problem might be
The pickoff at the engine
The speedometer cable
The dashboard cluster

I would disconnect the cable and make sure turning one end that the other end also turns. You may find the inside cable is broke.

Absolutely. And a cordless drill is a great way to test the cable if disconnected from the engine side.
