I noticed a small wet spot under the tractor yesterday (under right rear tire). After cleaning the area with a rag where the rear hydro connections are, it seems to be coming from the area in the photos - maybe a gasket failure?I want to tighten the bolts in the area (I doubt they are loose), but I need to take the hydro lines off to really get to them. I wanted to get your opinions before I dig into it.

I would place some dry paper towels (they'd be blue if mine) at some different locations and levels to be sure just where the leak is at before removing anything.. to be sure it isn't dripping from above where you see it.
Wish you good luck tracking it down.

It could be leaking from one of the banjo fittings. Clean it really well with some degreaser and get it clean a dry. After using a degreaser, I usually hose it down with brake or electric motor cleaner (do a test spot to make sure it won't harm the paint). Then fire it up and with a good light, look for the leak. If it is a banjo fitting, sometimes they just need tightened just a tick. Those lines can be cantankerous to remove. If you take them off be careful not to bend them any at all.

Paul hit the nail - IMO. Those banjo fittings are a compression fit and can be over-tightened. Do that; and they will never stop leaking!

Do you have the Technical Repair Manual for your tractor? If not, check with your dealer for the torque specs on those fitting's before wrenching on 'em!

It looks like the whole SVC is loose - no? All cleaned up. And this is after plowing snow tonight. IMG_7307.JPGIMG_7308.JPGIMG_7309.JPGIMG_7310.JPG

Ps - banjo bolts (4) were all dry. The back (inner) seems to be most wet.

Removed it all. It may have been the o-rings - seemed to be coming from between the SVC and the housing. So I'll order them and new copper washers. We will see.

This leak is making me feel like I am losing my mind! I replaced the inner o-rings (29 and 33), and now I took it back apart to replace the lower o-rings (5 in a few spots around 32). Now I know why some people don't chase these type of leaks. Anyone have the service manual to tell me what the torques are for this area of the tractor? Is there an electronic shop manual?

For those following my fun - I have replaced the tree o-rings (31s in the pic above). I'll give it a simple green cleaning to see if we are sealed up. I sure hope I cured the dripping.
