Anyone know if you can buy a 2520 and ask to have the smaller 2320 tires put on? I did not know if a dealer would do this on a new purchase or not. I didn’t know if that would be considered voiding the factory warranty or not. Thanks in advance.

I dont think thay will change things like that.
But why would you even want to.....

Chris....:)

Yeah, Why would you want to:confused:

Also something very important to consider is the gear ratio's of the MFWD system. If you change the diameters of the tires you can seriously damage the tractor.

I think the fronts are already the same size so if that is the case then it would be a problem switching them as the ratio would be wrong

You see people change back and fourth between turf and AG’s is the reason I thought it was possible. Turf's are not as tall as AG’s. IF this reasoning is true, I was wondering if a person could downsize AG’s on a tractor for folks who benefit from a short tractor to get under timber and woods. I did not know if it was even possible is the reason I ask. Since gearing is brought up I guess there is a certain limits you are allowed. Going from a 19’’ rim to a 16.5’’ rim is too extreme? Or yes it can be done if a person is willing to drive around in a slower geared tractor? Thanks for the feedback. I'm too bashful to ask these dumb questions at a Deere dealer.

Their isn't that much difference in height between the two machines. I'm not sure what the point would be.

The main thing you must consider is that these are 4 wheel drive tractors.

If we were talking about 2 wheel drive machines, your tire/wheel size change wouldn't be a problem. Like you said, changing the size on a 2WD would only affect your ground speed in a given gear.

But, we are talking about 4WD here. The size of the front tires/wheels and rears are matched exatly to the transmission so everything turns in unisen. If you made even a slight size change in either the front or rear wheels/tires, one set would be trying to turn faster than the other, which would make a bind in the transmission and would quickly ruin it or an axle or driveshaft.

2305 is shorter

You can use the following formula to determine if a tire combination is acceptable:

1 - (REAR STATIC LOADED RADIUS / FRONT STATIC LOADED RADIUS X MFWD RATIO) = X

If X is between .010 and .050 the tire combination is acceptable.

The MFWD ratio (front to rear) for the 2320 is 1.489

The MFWD ratio (front to rear) for the 2520 is 1.538

Check the tire manufacturers specs for static loaded radius and if possible measure the tires on a similarly equipted tractor as I've found static loaded radius can vary depending on the tractor and attachments.

Using typical static loaded radius values of 10.5" for a 23x8.50-12 R4 tire and 15.1" for a 12-16.5 R4 tire gives:

1 - (15.1" / 10.5" X 1.538) = 0.065 , which is outside of the acceptable range.

Hope this helps.
