Hi Runner..

Seems fine so far. Haven't run into snags where I get hung up.

Also, there doesn't feel to be any weight issues with the 500+ implement on the back, and that's without the loader installed.

I've been very happy with the 60" rfm, but I found out that the 72" is only $100 bucks more.. so the dealer is letting me trade up. :)

The blade tip speed on the 60" is 15 829 ft/min, whereas on the 72" it's 18 737 ft/min. It weighs 70lbs more, so I'm hoping this won't cause an issue for the front end of the tractor. I guess I'll try it and see.

I'll post a review with pictures when I can.

If the extra 70 pounds on the rear makes a differance, For about $70 you can add two 42 pound weights on the front. JC

Gord,

That sounds like a good move and is an interesting coincidence. I placed my order yesterday (5/25) and also decided to go for the 72 inch rear finish mower instead of the 60. Here's my list of goodies: 2520 w/R4 tires set wide, 200CX w/53 inch bucket, 54 inch front blade, 72 inch RFM, 60 inch rotary cutter, 60 inch rear blade, 60 inch box blade, ballast box, front weights, snow blower, fixed tine pallet forks. Mine should be here in two weeks.

Good luck and please report back once you've tried the 72 inch RFM, it will be fun to compare notes.

Runner , that sounds like a sweet setup....:) May i ask why you chose a 53inch bucket instead of the 61 inch? reason i ask is , if your rear tires are set to wide side out. i was doing some gradeing and with a 61 inch bucket you can get right up to the edge of something. cause the bucket sticks out a tad past the tires. with a 53 on a 2520 with tires wide. you might hit the tire if you got to close to a wall or curb. Just a thought. plus the 61 inch holds more.......:)
Congrats on new tractor. ;)

My only concern at this point is the extra 75 lbs on the back end. This'll make the front end quite lite. So, some front weights may be in order.

I find the independent brakes are crucial for precision turning on the lawn. Now that front may be even lighter, it'll make the independent brakes even more crucial. If I have to weigh the front down by a 100lbs or so, I'll do that.

Chris,

I went with the 53 inch bucket for a couple of reasons. First, the dealer recommended against anything bigger than the 53 for anything but light material like mulch. From what I've read on the board here, I'm sure he was being overly conservative though.

Second, I'm not planning on doing that much loader work, mostly just some small dirt/gravel moving projects.

Don't know, I may regret it, but I'm sure they'll be glad to sell the 61 inch bucket to me later if I decide I need it...

Gord,

I was also concerned about the extra weight on the back, particularly with my hills, which is why I went for the weight extension bracket and the extra weights, 7 total. The dealer suggests mowing with the loader frame on, which would work, but also seemed like overkill in the weight department, especially for the lawn area. Also, I think the tractor will be a little more maneuverable without the loader frame on. Finally, I think that the frame weights hang lower than the weight of the loader frame and that should be better for overall center of gravity/hill stability issue.

Hopefully, most of the weight of the RFM will be on it's own suspension most of the time, so the only time the lightness of the front end would show up would be during transport. Of course, that's the rookie talking, I may find out differently about that real quick.
