Just looked a few minutes ago. I think you are going to have a difficult time splitting the PTO shaft from the crank pulley without taking everything apart. I forgot, the bolts that hold the shaft on there go completely through the crank pulley/rubber isolator. You have to get to the back of the bolts to hold them from spinning when removing them. I think you will agree that it is a crazy setup...lol. Good luck my friend. Feel free to ask more questions.

Hey Warment: Thanks for all your help . . . I am starting to put together a page of diagrams that show PTO, Radiator etc. I bouught a Dayco belt with cogs at top in lieu of Gates with cogs on bottom. . . I think the Gates is a better belt and more like original. As you say this is such a stewpid setup to change belt, I am tempted to put 2 belts on - 1 working and one spare tied off if possible.
Do you think I should go with Dayco or order the Gates. . . Going to search out Kevlar replacement as well. I have so many other projects on the go I surely didn't need this and stressing me out. Hopefully it is not as big a deal as I envision.

I just looked back at my online records...

I purchased and installed the following: CASE IH 676622R1 Replacement Belt | eBay

Seems to be working just fine.

I don't think you will have any difficult issues...just a lot of items to take off and put back.

Also, shoot me your email if you want the pdf for the 234 engine. Not sure where I got it from. It's slightly difficult to use, but has diagrams and part numbers. Of course, the pto and deck are not shown.
