Ok first post here guys...so I just bought a shiny new 2415 with the bucket loader and wow what a cool little machine. I am replacing an old Ford 8N that I spent more time fixing and working on that I did shredding my lot.
Right off the bat I have to say the Mahindra is a great machine. But after the first fillup I learned a trick that I wish the guys would have told me at the dealer when I bought it. The machine has a cheesy plastic strainer that sits under the fuel cap, supposedly to keep grass and dirt and other tractor byproducts from entering your fuel tank while you fill it. Ok that sounds cool but when you put your fuel spout on it and exert any pressure whatsoever, the thing will fold and get pushed into your fuel tank. Now it is rolling around in the bottom of my fuel tank, my fuel meter doesn't work right and it occasionally blocks my fuel pickup so I randomly lose power. Not fun. When I asked the dealer about it, they said, "you didn't leave the strainer in, did you?". So I fully intend to let them fish the sucker out under warranty whenever I can part with the machine for more than a few days.
So far I have to say its a very good investment, and if the strainer is the worst part of it I think all is well. Also if you are looking at these, they recommended a 4 foot shredder, but I opted for a 5 and glad I did. It does bog down in the thick stuff, but you can just do 2 passes and its all good. For general shredding it does just fine and the extra foot makes a big difference.
anyway hope this helps someone out there. Get rid of the strainer!
