My Cat 305 puts me at the ragged edge of legal.

One extra shovel can make the difference between legal and not. Your trailer must be light.

It was still attached to truck, just backed onto scale, so that is trailwr wheel weight without tongue weight. Trailer weighs around 3k, rated at 17.5klbs.

My 16k trailer is 4800 pounds empty. Two 16k axles.

Our machines are very similar in weight.

I am always on the lookout for a stout light trailer. I know, oxymoron.

Do you have airbags?
I had them on my 2008 F-350 and it make the truck handle and look much better going down the road when heavily loaded. Really liked them.
