I need to start a Swingfire 24V Gas Fired Heater System using 24 volts DC.

24-volt DC Power consumption (for starting only) is 150 watts

Once the thing fires up, it no longer needs the 24 volts.

I don't have a 24 volt battery. What would you suggest?

I don't need a 24 volt battery for any other reason.

Hello Doc Bob, I use two deep cycle 6 volt batteries connected in "series" to give 12 volts on one of my RV's. Seems to me you could do the same with 12's to get 24.

2 12v motorcycle batts in series.

if that to large or clumsy to work with, try 2 12v (or perhaps a 24v) battery packs for computer UPS's they can be found at places like Batteries plus.

I dont know how many watts a 24v dewalt drill battery will put out. but would be super compact and easy to recharge.
