2500 Clutch Rusted to the Flywheel Well it did, I used the tractor a couple of months ago and forgot to apply the clutch pedal latch when I shut it down.
I serviced it this week from front to rear before I ever attempted to start it. Changed ALL fluids and put a set of springs under the seat to replace those worn out rubber bumpers that will shake your teeth.
Got on it to start it and it would not go into gear. I knew then what had happened. I came in and fired up the computer to see what the remedy was and found a post on the Hoye site here that says to let it push against a tree or other larger solid object to break it loose. Well it didn't and believe me I tried.
I went to a friend that runs the local JD shop and asked him. He said to do the exact opposite. Put it in the highest gear and going as fast as you can lock the brakes. Sounds dangerous, but it did work and the first time I did it.
