2520 50 hours service

Do most of you perform your own 50 hour service? My dealer made it sound that way. I wondered how many perform this service and if so at what point (hours) do you have the dealer take care of the service?

I would say most people do it themselves. You get to know the "in's" and "out's" of your tractor by doing it yourself. I do all my own maintenance and don't plan for the dealer to do any. If you can change the oil in a vehicle than you'll be fine.

Agree with above.

Its pretty straight forward for anyone with a little knowledge of vehicle maintenance. The manual does a decent job of explaining the procedure.

I did my own on a 2320.. It pretty much took most of a Saturday morning, but I was not in a rush and had some problems when refilling the transmission/hydraulics..

BTW IIRC- some manuals say to change the hydraulics at 50 and others say at 200.. I would change it at 50 just to get the metal shavings out of there..

I went back with Amsoil fluid for the refill, but I was told the JD low viscosity Hy-Guard is also synthetic. I have not been able to confirm it is synthetic though.
