2520 delivery dates now back even further

Hiya,

Went to the friendly local dealer to order an air ride seat and we got BS'ing that they had no new 2000 series in stock at all 3 stores. He said the 2520 sale program was such a success for Deere as when they ran out of 2520's people then cleaned them out of 2320's and when those were gone, the 2720's went as well. He said they ordered a 2520 last week and were given a delivery date in late January 2012.

I scratch my head at these reports.

If it is true that these 20 series are virtually non-existent on dealer lots and back ordered that far, wouldn't that lead to an awful lot of lost sales to orange, blue, and all the other colors? Seriously. When a guy finally gets the urge to get a tractor and really needs it, is he really going to wait that long when other companies have similar sized tractors available?

Mystified over this.

I was at the dealer I use, they had a couple of 2320's and 1 2720 in the yard. Not sure if they were all spoken for. I did ask on the 2520's out of curiosity and he told me they were into late October to early November to get them now. :shocked:

Ya, the salesman may have inflated the time a bit but I don't know, he's been a straight shooter when I deal with him.

I hope the waiting list remains long as I'm selling my 2520 in the classified section, it's a great deal with no waiting. :thumbsup: Save thousands and no long wait

Was just at my dealer yesterday. He has 9 dealerships in the midwest and has no new 2520's in stock. He says the last one he just ordered has a delivery date of January 2012.

Are the 2520s really back ordered that far? How does the rumor that Deere is dropping the current small 20 series for upgraded designs play into this? If at all?

The sales manager at one of my local dealerships told me that Deere is redesigning most all of the tractors with the new look of the 1000 series, the 7R, 8R, etc. Maybe the 2000 series is slowing up for this reason.

Not sure is anyone really knows but my dealer says the 2520 and 2720 are staying in the lineup. JD is replacing everything smaller than the 2520 at this point.
